Using ancient armor-making techniques, anodized aluminum rings were linked together with just two pairs of pliers. Over the course of two years, over 100,000 rings were cold-connected to create the base of the dress. Next, small anodized aluminum roses and die-cut anodized leaves were carefully woven onto the front of the dress to create a metalwork embroidery. I created this piece to challenge myself. I wanted to make one of the most traditionally feminine pieces of clothing using metal and medieval chainmaille armor techniques.
