My daughter, Taylor, had a wanted a double wedding ring quilt in neutral colors ever since she was 12 years old, so when she had set her wedding date this year, I knew just what to make. She loves vintage inspired fabrics and colors and so that was the direction I went with. I used a Judy Niemeyer Paper Pieced pattern called Grandmother’s Double Wedding Ring pattern, that I altered a bit to be able to use the neutral palette. This was the first quilt I had ever done that had scalloped borders and single fold bias binding. I quilted it with a simple 1940’s inspired flower in the background and a echo quilting in the melons.
